CMC's active RFID solutions are specifically designed for applications such as: fleet management, access control, and real time asset management. Knowing where your company's assets are at all times and limiting the removal of such assets to pre-authorized personnel only, reduces incidents of theft and loss. Pre-authorization is automated by linking particular assets to personnel tags and creating an electronic relationship between the tag and the asset.
Our RFID components include fixed and mobile readers, antennas, tags and packaged solutions complete with a scalable infrastructure platform that simplifies deployment and maximizes your return on investment.
Active
RFID Solutions
Solution characteristics: include battery powered tags that emit a signal, provide for long range communication (usually 100 metres or more), and allow for the possibility of hardware-enabled tamper detection. Active solutions are best applied to high value assets such as expensive machinery, vehicles or hospital equipment.
Passive
RFID Solutions
Passive solutions are: more cost-effective since the tags do not emit a signal, are typically readable in an area of 3 metres or less, and create less interferance (radio frequency noise) in the operating environment. Usually passive solutions are used for smaller or often re-tagged items that are constantly moving in and out of your facililties.
